“My teaching at the Royal Academy, the Guildhall and the Royal Welsh College has become very important to me - working with talented young musicians keeps me growing and learning myself and by giving back what I was taught by older musicians, I can repay by passing it on. The great altoist Bob Burns said to me ‘I like the way you put your fingers down, but I don’t like the way you lift them up.’ I still bear this in mind today.... ”
